I have been having problems with my wife for sometime now. I try and tell her how I feel about things and she always says they are stupid. I'm 45 and she is 37. I was raised in Kansas her in Arkansas. I think that might have something to do with it. If I don't agree with her, there's a fight and she will pack her things and go to her mother's for about a week and come back like nothing had happened.
Well this has turned her family against me. I have no family here so I feel like I have nowhere to go. In fact I think I'm about ready to move back to Kansas. I don't see any change to the good. But I do see our problems getting worse. I asked her once if she even cared any more, and she said no. I don't think she means it but there probably won't be any change. If she wants to do as she pleases and me to shut up and do as she wants, none of my wants, well please suggest something.
Go back to Kansas. If she would rather be with her mother, then that's where she should be. And if you'd rather be in Kansas, then that's where YOU should be.
Next time she leaves, just pack up your things and leave too. Then when she returns she'll get the message.
I have to assume that you don't have children in the house, so nobody would suffer except the two of you. And perhaps neither of you would suffer either. What you describe is not a happy marriage. In fact it looks to me like a big mistake.
Possibly, after a period apart, you might want to try again, but it is more likely that you will both discover that this marriage was not made in heaven. Each of you might find someone who doesn't have to argue all the time. You might even find real love.
